Description

Royal Albert Hall full name London's Royal Albert Hall of Arts and Sciences (eng. Royal Albert Hall of Arts and Sciences) is a concert hall in London. It is considered one of the most prestigious concert venues in the UK and around the world. Built in memory of Prince Consort Albert during the reign of Queen Victoria, his widow. Located in South Kensington.

Every year, the Royal Albert Hall hosts about 350 events, including classical music concerts, operas and ballets, award ceremonies, charity concerts, and banquets.

Every summer since 1941, the Royal Albert Hall has hosted the international music festival BBC Proms (after the original venue, Queens Hall, was destroyed by German bombing during the Second World War).

In the post-war period, popular rock bands such as The Beatles, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin and The Who performed at the Royal Albert Hall more than once. In 1956, Alfred Hitchcock filmed the climax of The Man Who Knew Too Much at the Royal Albert Hall. Celebrations are also held with the participation of students from Imperial College London. The Albert Hall can also be visited as a tourist excursion.
