Description
The Ancient Theater in Arausion (now the city of Orange) is one of the best preserved ancient Roman theaters. It is the venue for the annual summer music festival "Joregies of Orange".
The theater was built by order of the Roman emperor Octavian Augustus in the 1st century BC. e.
In the 17th century, Louis XIV called the skene (stage wall) of the theater in Orange the most beautiful skene in the kingdom. The width of the façade of the skena is 104 meters, the height is 35 m.
